Which package, and how do I install it?
  1. In a terminal, type: lsb_release -rs. If the number is 22.04 or higher (or Debian 12 or later), choose the new package. Otherwise, choose the older one.
  2. Install or upgrade: sudo apt install ./dorsandesk-10.9.8.198-new-amd64.deb (for the older package, change the file name).
  3. Troubleshoot without a graphical environment: dorsandesk --diagnose. Show the version: dorsandesk --version.

Android, iOS, Mac and the web version

Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Android are also at version 10.9.8.198. iOS is available from the Sib Irani store.

Android

Most new phones are ARM64. If you are not sure, choose the All version.

For remote control: first allow “Install unknown apps” from within the DorsanDesk app, then turn on “Accessibility”.

Which Windows version of DorsanDesk should I download?

For 64-bit Windows, download the 64-bit MSI version. For Windows Server and multi-user environments, choose the server version. The 32-bit file is only for 32-bit Windows. All Windows files are digitally signed MSI installers, and the Setup (EXE) file is no longer offered.

What is the difference between the arm64-v8a, armeabi-v7a and x86_64 Android versions?

These versions correspond to the processor architecture of the Android device. Most new phones use arm64-v8a, older devices may be armeabi-v7a, and x86_64 is mainly used by some devices or emulators. In the smart suggestion, the version for your specific device comes first and the All version always comes second.

Which version is right for newer Apple Macs?

For newer Macs with Apple Silicon processors such as M1, M2, M3 and M4, the macOS ARM64 version is the better fit. For older Intel Macs, choose the macOS Intel version.

Which version should I choose for Linux?

If your Linux runs on a 64-bit processor, the AMD64 (x86_64) version is the right one. If your device is ARM64, download the Linux ARM64 version.
